Music Torrent

Music Torrent, a Windows application offered for free by DonarZone, has two main bits of functionality to offer: it allows you to create torrents and download torrents off the web. The application integrates with the operating system and makes it very easy to start downloading torrents. The nice thing is that you can listen to music while you’re downloading files – the application provides easy access to various online radio stations.

The application's installation file is 14.5MB in size. Download it, run it, and you will be presented with a setup wizard that will guide you through the installation process. It must be mentioned here that you will be asked to install a toolbar (and there’s no way to opt out) and that you will be directed to the DonarZone webpage once the installation completes.

From top to bottom, you will see the following on the application’s interface: a traditional File Menu, a bar that features a search box and buttons to start/stop/delete the torrent download, a pane that lists the Library, Music Torrent Radio, and Subscriptions buttons.

Music Torrent provides all the functionality you would expect to get from a torrent client: create torrent, initiate torrent download, view torrent info, set transfer speed, choose to shut down the PC once the download completes, and so on. Accessing said functionality is a very straightforward matter. You can start a torrent download form the Open dialog, by downloading the torrent file and running it with Music Torrent, or, if you’re a Firefox user, by choosing to open the torrent file with Music Torrent.

Since it has the word "music" included in its title, you can assume that Music Torrent has something to do with music. The application has two music-focused pieces of functionality: a Music Torrent File option in the Open Torrent dialog and a Music Torrent Radio feature that provides easy access to online radio stations. While using this software, music from a radio station I randomly picked kept me entertained.
